Elementary Parent Project (EPP)

The Elementary Parent Project (EPP) is designed to help parents of mixed race elementary age children gain insight into what their mixed racial children may face during elementary school.  The EPP hopes to help parents take action in the child’s development of their racial identity, as well as to answer any questions parents may have regarding rearing their mixed race children.  Parents are taught how to advocate for their child’s racial identity and learn how to affirm their identity exploration.

The EPP holds seminars with elementary school parents across the Southern California area.  Teachers and/or principals from elementary schools can invite EPP speakers to a parent group (such as Parent Teachers Association meetings).  Leaders of parent groups outside of the school setting can also invite EPP speakers to their parent group.  Seminars are conducted in a manner to engage parents, focusing heavily on interactive discussions.

To invite an EPP speaker to your parent group or school, please email: parent@mascsite.org .
