Celebrate Loving Day at Circles of Voices.
MASC is a community partner for Circles of Voices — a powerful 3-hour workshop focused on ending ignorance around race and other isms, while promoting social justice and inclusion.
Speakers will be End to Ignorance founder JC Faulk, who has over 20 years of community organizing experience and decades of diversity consulting, and Vernā Myers, a seasoned diversity and inclusion advocate well-known for her TED Talk on overcoming biases. Together, they seek to promote understanding and healing among participants with exercises and dialogue to encourage connections across our nation’s culturally imposed racial boundaries. Participants will gain new knowledge and skills to enable them to foster bias-free personal and professional relationships.
Join us for this engaging event featuring special musical guests and light dinner will be provided and dessert by Pure Spirit.
WHEN: Saturday, June 11, 6:00 to 9:00 PM WHERE: Los Angeles Baha’i Center 5755 Rodeo Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90016

My name is Michael Miyawaki and I am an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Hendrix College. I am currently seeking mixed heritage Latinos in the San Francisco Bay Area whose one parent is Latino and the other parent is non-Latino white, black, or Asian for a research study on racial identity.
This project will provide you with an opportunity to share your experience as a mixed heritage person in a confidential and safe environment. By sharing your story, you are helping to expand research on the offspring of Latino intermarriage, a population that is fast growing and making their presence felt nationwide and particularly in California.
As a research study, I must narrow down my sample. Therefore, this is who I am looking for:
Mixed heritage Latinos whose one parent is Latino and the other parent is non-Latino white, black, or Asian.
Mixed heritage Latinos who are at least 18 years old, born and raised in the U.S., and currently residing in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Time Required: One hour per interview at a location that is convenient for you.
Compensation: $20 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble for your participation.
Interviews will take place this summer, from June through August 2016. If you are interested in participating, please contact me at email@example.com.
